Despite the fact that Final Fantasy XVI is out in just a couple of weeks, Square Enix has been bombarding us with new Final Fantasy VII Rebirth news. The anticipated sequel ended up being the closer to Summer Game Fest Live, and we saw a lot more of the game than we thought we would at this point.
The new trailer shows actual gameplay — in what seem to be somewhat open environments — new playable characters like Red XIII, what looked like a slightly adjusted battle system, and more. We also have an updated release window: 'Early 2024'. We told you it wouldn't be out this year!

Robert's been a dedicated PlayStation fan since the days of Tekken 2, and he still loves a good dust up. When he's not practising combos, he's usually getting lost in the latest 100-hour RPG, or, y'know, replaying The Witcher 3.
Looking forward too it.
Looks great (and confusing) Also that game is going to take up a good chunk of my storage space when it comes with two discs lol
I feel like I'm the only person in the world not jumping up and down for this. XD
What I wanted from Rebirth was the feeling of walking through the world and then noticing Junon (or other locations) on the horizon and making my way towards them as they grow bigger and eventually loom over you. This seemed to show that. It's an amazing setting, with so many iconic and atmospheric locations and I just want to get that in modem graphics with an immersive sense of scale. The trailer made me feel the devs got that.
It's fitting this is a (pseudo) remake of FFVII because I feel like I just went back in time to the 90's upon seeing that it'll be two discs.
