This week, Square Enix held a “Letter from the Producer” broadcast to share information regarding Final Fantasy 14’s upcoming 6.2 patch. During the broadcast, the game’s creators delved into what fans can expect in the upcoming update, which will include everything from new missions to more Island Sanctuary content. However, one of the bigger aspects of the update that fans will surely love is the increase in Glamour slots, which will now be 800. That is a whole lot of outfits to choose from.
Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida hopped onto the live broadcast to update fans on Patch 6.2 and dive into the highly anticipated Island Sanctuary content. The biggest feature of the update, which is set to launch sometime in late August, is the ability for players to create their own island sanctuary. This includes gathering supplies, constructing facilities, and interacting with the creatures of Hydaelyn. Plus, anyone will be able to begin building their own sanctuary as prior experience in crafting is not required.

A minor detail in the patch, but one that is sure to resonate with many players, is the update to Glamour slots. The Glamour Dresser is doubling in space from 400 slots to 800. This means that players can glamour or make a piece of equipment look like another while retaining its stats 800 times. Of course, this also means that players will need to mine those Glamour Prisms in order to take advantage of all those additional slots.
