Obsidian Entertainment's 2010 RPG takes players to the post-apocalyptic ruins of Las Vegas for an intense open-world adventure. In-depth mods have previously made dramatic additions to the game, with one recent project adding an Elden Ring message system to Fallout: New Vegas, but one player has vented their frustrations with a humorous fan creation.
Following the release of Fallout 3 in 2008, Fallout: New Vegas was praised for bringing back various elements found in earlier Fallout titles. The game's faction system received particular from fans, with each group found in the Mojave Wasteland being morally ambiguous rather than strictly good or evil. Other features introduced in Fallout 3, particularly first-person shooter combat, were improved in New Vegas with the addition of iron sights for aiming. Since release fans have remained faithful to Obsidian's post-apocalyptic RPG, working to improve and expand the experience through the creation of mods. The Fallout: Nuevo Mexico mod for New Vegas, for example, adds an entirely new region to the game filled with new quests, companions and factions.

The Wishes Come True mod for Fallout: New Vegas, created by Nexus Mods user Testudini, gives wandering NPCs exactly what they have coming to them. As players explore the Mojave Wasteland they will often hear NPC soldiers repeat the phrase, "Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter."
