Bethesda’s next-gen update for Fallout 4 has made the experience of playing the game on Steam Deck worse, as it removed the option to change graphics. The next-gen update for Fallout 4 was eagerly expected by many gamers, but its release introduced new problems to multiple platforms.
The Fallout 4 next-gen update was released earlier this week. Not only did the update aim to fix several known bugs in Fallout 4, but it also promised to include Performance and Quality Modes for consoles, as well as the option to play on ultra-widescreen on PC. Still, it's disappointing that, while Fallout 4’s update actually fixes some issues, it also created others.
Unfortunately, Steam Deck is not the only platform with problems introduced by Bethesda’s update. For instance, Fallout 4’s Quality Mode does not currently work on Xbox. Some PS Plus subscribers also struggled to gain access to the update, as they had issues when accessing the PS5 version of Bethesda’s game.
