With Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi coming out only a few months from now, it was only a matter of time until McGregor would be asked to share his experience of what it was like to play one of his most iconic roles again. McGregor detailed what it was like to come back to the Star Wars franchise 17 years after the release of Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith.

In a recent interview with Forbes, McGregor sounded optimistic about what fan reception would be like when the Obi-Wan Kenobi series is released. «I think it’s really going to satisfy Star Wars fans. I always felt there was a story between Episode III where I finished playing Obi-Wan in the movies and Episode IV where Alec Guinness is Obi-Wan Kenobi,» McGregor explained. «The writers and Deb and I and everyone, I think we crafted or they crafted a very fine storyline. I think people are going to like it.»
Since McGregor's co-star from the prequels, Hayden Christensen, is also slated to return as Anakin Skywalker, the Obi-Wan Kenobi lead talked about what it was like reuniting with Christensen, potentially hinting at flashbacks to before Anakin became Darth Vader. «I think it’s no secret that Hayden Christensen comes back,» McGregor noted, «and we got to play scenes together again as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and it was just fantastic to work with him again.»
