Harry Styles' Eros (a.k.a Starfox) is likely to have an exciting MCU future in a possible Eternals 2 and beyond. Being the brother of Thanos as well as an Eternal himself, he opens the door further for the cosmic side of the MCU as it goes from strength to strength. Similarly, Amazon has found great success with The Boys, with the series taking delight in deconstructing and parodying the superhero tropes of Marvel and DC in an irreverent, funny, and often violent fashion. The Boys season 3 is set to air in the summer, and spin-offs G-Men and The Boys: Diabolical are on their way too.

Eternals director Chloé Zhao has stated that Harry Styles was the only choice for Eros. Harry Styles’ public persona fits the character of Eros well, especially as the character is centered around love and desire. However, casting a celebrity better known for their music and dedicated fan base as a superhero creates a target that is tailor-made for The Boys season 3 to parody with their own version. Having a musician or other form of mega-celebrity who is made a superhero because they are popular in their other profession is the sort of gimmick that multi-billion-dollar corporation Vought would pounce on.
