Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Riverdale season 6
Riverdale executive producer teases that an important character might still be alive. Prior to its return, now airing Sundays on The CW, Riverdale season 6 reached its 100th episode with style and ended on a classic cliffhanger. The teen drama went into its break with Archie (KJ Apa) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) getting a phone call, informing them that a bomb was planted under Archie’s bed and his house was subsequently destroyed. The bomb was planted by Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos), the father of Veronica (Camila Mendes), who has a long-standing vendetta against Archie.
Riverdale season 6, episode 6 revealed that Betty and Archie both survived Hiram's assassination attempt. The duo emerges from the attack unscathed, even appearing to gain superpowers from the experience. Archie is suddenly super strong and seemingly immune to pain. As for Betty, she can now see a red glow around individuals before they commit a crime. Meanwhile, Veronica puts a hit on Hiram. Though she eventually regrets the decision and tries to stop the attack on her own father, Riverdale season 6, episode 6 appears to show that Veronica's change of heart comes too late.

Speaking with TVLine after the episode, Riverdale executive producer and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa spoke about the more overt horror and supernatural influences in the series as of late. He also previewed what to expect when it came to a number of different storylines. But as it related to Hiram’s future, Aguirre-Sacasa struck a more ambiguous tone.
