The Boys season 3 trailer is finally here. The Prime Video show first premiered in 2019 and is based on the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. When The Boys season 2 aired in 2020, the show exploded in popularity thanks to Prime's decision to release episodes weekly. That, coupled with its irreverent and violent take on the superhero genre, has allowed The Boys to become a staple of Amazon's streaming service, with the company planning on rolling out several spinoffs, including the recently released animated show Diabolical.
When audiences last saw The Boys, the titular team had cleared their names and taken on Stormfront and Homelander, defeating both. Butcher (Karl Urban) was also able to get Ryan, Homelander and Becca's son, away from the evil supe before Ryan is taken in by the CIA. Still, The Boys season 2 ending left a lot of plot threads dangling that will be picked up in season 3, including Homelander's increasingly violent tendencies, Hughie working for congresswoman Neuman unaware that she is the head-exploding assassin, and Annie/Starlight rejoining the Seven.
