In LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, players will need to unlock the schematics for Scavenger tools in order to find new collectibles throughout the game. The Skywalker Saga features different classes of characters in the LEGO galaxy far far away, forcing players to utilize unique abilities to explore every corner of the game. Although there are quite a few Scavenger characters, players will first need to progress far enough in the game in order to utilize the class's tools.
The Scavenger may be the most unique class of character in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga because of the Breaker Blaster, Glider, and Net Launcher tools that players can cycle through and use. Unfortunately, even if a Scavenger character has been unlocked in the game, the schematics for all of these tools will still need to be acquired before they can be used. This requires certain missions to be completed in the game beforehand, which can make it difficult to find every collectible if certain episodes are chosen to play through first.

The unfortunate side effect of gatekeeping the Scavenger tools behind certain points of the game is that it forces players to finish certain missions first before others can be completed in full. For example, some Minikit locations in The Phantom Menace cannot be collectible without the use of certain Scavenger schematics. The same can be said for some of the missions in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith as well, as none of the episodes in the prequel trilogy provide players with the means to unlock any of the Scavenger tools.
