The Boys fans have been waiting to meet Ground Hawk — a semi-loving parody of Marvel's Wolverine — since 2019… and the ham-fisted supe does not disappoint. Across The Boys seasons 1 and 2 on Amazon Prime Video, we've met Compound-V subjects from all walks of life. Yet to be invited to the live-action party, however, are the G-Men. After the Seven, this X-Men parody act are one of the main super-groups in Garth Ennis' original comic books, and Ground Hawk stands out among their most prominent members. Ground Hawk shares Wolverine's pointy-eared costume and Wolverine's feral nature. He does not share Wolverine's lethal claws, blessed with hammers instead of hands.
Supes like Ground Hawk are perfect fodder for The Boys Presents: Diabolical — a spinoff packed with heroes live-action would probably struggle to adapt. Comprising eight animated shorts, each a unique story, The Boys: Diabolical is set within the same world as Amazon's primary series, and expands upon minor details and storylines from seasons 1 and 2. Nubian Prince, for example, was briefly mentioned by Madelyn Stillwell in The Boys season 1, but The Boys: Diabolical affords this background character a full episode alongside his wife, Nubia — a clear riff on Storm from Marvel's X-Men comics.
