Introducing the Eternals to the MCU brought about obvious comparisons to the original superhero team, the Avengers, but the two differ in one big way. Eternals was helmed by Academy Award-winning director Chloé Zhao, who took on the big challenge of bringing one of the most powerful Marvel teams to the screen in a way that could easily rival the popularity of MCU favorites, the Avengers. The two teams share a common element in that they group together superheroes to work as a team against bigger enemies, but Marvel Studios Assembled: Eternals shows Zhao discussing one thing that sets Eternals apart.
The Eternals are a group of immortal beings who have lived through thousands upon thousands of years fighting the powerful Deviants. Over the course of these years, they become a family unit. Ikaris and Sersi are married at one point, and Gilgamesh vows to stay with Thena for as long as she needs whilst she battles with Mahd Wy'ry. The Eternals close connection (as opposed to the Avengers 'co-workers' dynamic) is one of the main themes of the film, and a small detail accentuates how this differs from the Avengers.

The difference lies in a small but nonetheless hugely important aspect of MCU movies, which is the music. Zhao talks about how the music in the film is based on emotions and overarching themes rather than each individual character. This is, of course, very different to the Avengers who all have distinct pieces of music connected with them as individuals, as well as having extra themes that play when they team-up, and more recently, even an Avengers musical.
