A teardown of the all-new Mac Studio has revealed that the SSD storage in the device could be upgradable, despite Apple's claims to the contrary. Earlier this month, Apple announced the Mac Studio at its 'Peek Performance' event. It is an entirely new offering that comes with the form-factor of a Mac mini but packs the power and performance of a Mac Pro.

The SoC is created by combining two M1 Max die into one with the so-called 'UltraFusion' packaging architecture. The device starts at $1,999 for the entry-level model powered by the M1 Max, although the M1 Ultra model comes with twice the price tag, starting at $3,999.
