Head of Amazon Games Mike Frazzini has recently announced that he will be stepping down. Over the past few years, Frazzini has played a crucial role in shaping the media giant's approach to gaming-- a strategy that has included a number of first-party titles and exclusive services such as Amazon Luna.
Amazon, like so many other major media companies, has been aggressively expanding its ambitions in the world of gaming. The corporation's start in the gaming industry got off to something of a rocky start, though, canceling high-budget releases like Crucible and suffering other assorted fumbles. However, Amazon Games has managed to turn a massive corner with the release of two extremely popular MMORPGs: Lost Ark and New World. Both of these games, while imperfect, have garnered quite a bit of positive attention from the gaming community. Both of these titles only recently came to Western regions, yet they have already grown a major following online, with Lost Ark setting new records on Twitch and Steam.

Despite this success, Amazon Game Studios' head Mike Frazzini has decided to leave the company. As reported by Bloomberg, Frazzini announced on Friday that he would be relinquishing his position to focus on his family. Amazon's Ryan Jones made a statement about Frazzini's departure, wishing him the best and acknowledging his role in starting the studio. Jones also attributed some of the successes of New World and Lost Ark to Frazzini.
