Epic has rolled out self-publishing tools for its Games Store.
In a post on its website, the company detailed how developers can make use of these features. They can sign up at dev.epicgames.com to use this suite of tools, with companies able to submit games at $100 per title.
Developers can create a Coming Soon page to show off what their game will look like, before uploading test builds for title, as well as the option of submitting their projects for IARC rating. Finally, Epic has to review games – both content and store page – in order for them to be published.
After that, games can be published.
"These new tools are housed in Epic’s Developer Portal and will allow for exponential growth in our catalog of games and apps," the company wrote.
"The tools make it easy to bring eligible PC products directly to the Epic Games Store and its huge global audience. Partners who use Self Service Publishing will continue to benefit from our favourable 88 per cent/12 per cent revenue split or can use their own IAP payment solution in their products."
Epic has said that its Games Store now boasts over 230 million PC users, with 725 million accounts across various platforms. The company says it had 68 million monthly active users in December 2022, with users spending $820 million last year – a two per cent decrease. When it comes to third-party titles, users spent $355 million.
