The latest episode featured a sequence in which the villainous Qimir takes on multiple Jedi in a display of pure power that shocked many viewers with its brutality and the efficiency with which The Master fought his many opponents.

[Warning: The following article contains spoilers from The Acolyte Episode 5.]Throughout this sequence, Qimir can be seen in his flowing black robe and intimidating helmet with his bare arms exposed, and as the battle goes on, this reduces to a vest-type top and the removal of the helmet. In an interview with Inverse, 's showrunner, Leslye Headland, revealed that this look was inspired by scantily clad summons like Let Me Solo Her.

Summons are other players who can be invited to join a game as a spirit to assist in defeating difficult foes. Let Me Solo Her rose to fame by joining games as a summon just before the notoriously difficult Malenia, Blade of Miquella boss fight, and would take on the boss alone, having aided thousands of players prior to the launch of the expansion.

Headland explained the logic behind having Qimir in such an exposed outfit rather than full armor, referring back to the Elden Ring summons and stating, "." The idea is that players know that the ones who don't need the armor have an incredible level of skill, with Headland asking, "”

This made Qimir even more intimidating throughout the sequence, as even before he started dispatching groups of Jedi with ease, he clearly displayed a level of confidence in his ability. Much like with 's most skilled players, Qimir was largely untouchable in the battle, proving that while he did wear a Cortosis helmet — which was explained as shielding his mind from the Jedi's Force abilities such as mind-reading or using similar tricks to manipulate him
