The newest game in the beloved franchise is scheduled for release on September 26, 2024. The game's trailer shows strange rifts appearing in the world and spiriting away many of Hyrule's occupants, including Link. Breaking the mold in the long-running series, stars Princess Zelda as the hero tasked with saving her kingdom.

The video shows a kingdom torn apart by these otherworldly rifts, completely swallowing up large parts of Zelda's home, including the entire castle. In a desperate bid to protect his home and the princess, the king is shown to throw Zelda to safety, out of the path of an oncoming rift. New screenshots have also been added to the website, showing much more of the world than previously revealed, showing new enemies and friends that the princess will make as she searches for a way to save Link and her people — and, it appears, her own father, the king.
