After years of Assassin Creed fans begging Ubisoft to take the series to Japan, the company is finally doing just that when it releases Assassin’s Creed Shadows this November. In a new video published on YouTube, Ubisoft showcases the distinct playstyles of the game’s dual protagonists Naoe and Yasuke. Players can freely select between either protagonist as they take on various missions.
The team’s aim with Naoe is to give players a more classic Assassin’s Creed experience. She’s a nimble assassin who employs stealth and is incredibly acrobatic, with a set of parkour moves that the Ubisoft team seems particularly proud of. Naoe can also sneak up on her enemies in the prone position to dispatch them silently. Ubisoft has enhanced the stealth experience further with improvements to lighting that should make the fantasy of sneaking around as a shinobi at night more satisfying.
Yasuke, on the other hand, is much more in your face. Players who enjoy scrapping it out in melee with their enemies will find a lot to love here. Where Naoe brings subtlety and finesse, Yasuke is more brute strength and brawn, capable of smashing through locked doors and lifting heavy barrels.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows arrives on November 15 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
