We previously highlighted this excellent damage calculation utility created by Ortemist of Zul'jin, which helps players remove the guesswork of whether or not a dungeon ability will kill them, while determining exactly what combination of defensive abilities will enable them to survive.

Similar to other tools used in past seasons, Not Even Close calculates the damage of highly dangerous Mythic+ abilities alongside player stats, buffs, and external abilities to let you know exactly how much damage will be dealt and how much it would potentially overkill a player by, allowing them to know whether a dungeon is completable or what defensives would need to be allocated in order to survive before bricking the key.

The interface is simple enough: set the key level and affix, and either select a dungeon and pre-set ability or create a custom instance of damage by filling in the relevant fields. From there, the only part missing is your own character stats and toggled buffs, which can be entered manually or imported using the in-game addon to capture the information. On the right, the tool will tell you whether your character has enough effective health to survive, how much was overkilled or left over, and players can experiment by toggling various buffs to determine their impact. An enterprising group leader can even add multiple characters to optimize the party, determine who needs the most help, and assign the most effective use of external buffs.
