The Crystal Staff is a magical weapon in Elden Ring that increases the potency of Crystalian Spells, Sorceries wielded by Crystalian Mages. These Spells include Crystal Release, Crystal Torrent, and Shattering Crystal. However, Tarnished spellcasters should keep in mind that the Crystal Barrage and Crystal Burst Sorceries are not Crystalian spells despite their name and appearance. As a result, the Crystal Staff's buff in Elden Ring does not affect them.
Wielding the Crystal Staff requires a stat allocation of Strength 8 and Intelligence 48, making it more of a mid to late-game weapon compared to something like the Carian Glintblade Staff. The Crystal Staff also has an alternate version known as the Rotten Crystal Staff. This variant is not different from its counterpart besides its appearance and the gimmick ability to inflict Scarlet Rot with melee strikes. The Rotten Crystal Staff can be acquired from farming Crystalian Mages within Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. On the other hand, the Crystal Staff is located in a fixed location in Liurnia of the Lakes.
