Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree's recent gameplay reveal trailer confirmed what a lot of fans have been speculating for nearly two years - that the DLC would be accessed by touching Miquella's hand.
It's been a very long time coming, but we finally got our first look at the long-awaited Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring a few days ago. Beyond being an epic trailer that reminded everyone why the game has stayed on everyone's mind since 2022, it also revealed a ton of new content and confirmed a long-running fan theory.

If you look carefully at the egg, you'll see a hand reaching out at you, which caused many fans, including Twitter user IronPineapple_, to speculate that this is where the entry point to the DLC will be, and that Miquella would pull the player into the past or to another location altogether.
It seems that Elden Ring players can see into the future, as the Shadow of the Erdtree gameplay trailer revealed that the long-running fan theory is on the money. Right as the trailer begins, the first shot that we see is the Tarnished standing in front of the egg and staring at Miquella's hand reaching out to them, before cutting to the expansion's new area.
Even if the trailer didn't outright say that Miquella's hand was the key to accessing the DLC, it was then confirmed in an interview between IGN and game director
