EA Sports PGA Tour has been updated with a number of welcome improvements, the biggest of which is the promised three-click swing system that harkens back to golf games of old.
The three-click system lets you click once to initiate a swing, click again at the top of the arc, and then once more at the bottom to complete the swing. Hitting the sweet spot is the goal to execute a good swing. To ensure fairness, some online events in EA Sports PGA Tour have rules about which swing types are supported. The standard swing system will stay in the game as an option.

EA Sports PGA Tour's swing system was criticized at launch for being laggy and inconsistent. According to EA Sports, it was always planning to add a three-click swing system after launch, and now it's finally here.
Also with the new title update, EA Sports PGA Tour has a new «Fast Play» option that skips player reactions. Before this, players had to wait and watch golfers ham it up with the crowd before moving on to their next shot.
The new update also lets players turn the putt meter visibility on and off, and it also provides an on/off option for button hints. Additionally, the putting grid will now fade away after the ball hits the green to help with visibility. Also related to putting, the green grid beads will now «flow more accurately» to help players read putts more effectively.
