EA's Star Wars Jedi series hits 40m players
pcgamesinsider.bizThe Star Wars Jedi series from Electronic Arts has been played by over 40 million gamers to date.
That's according to Laura Miele, the firm's president of its Entertainment and Technology divisions, who told shareholders at its recent investor day that the series had reached 40 million players since its debut back in 2019.
Furthermore, she added that EA's Star Wars games had generated over $5 billion in net bookings to date. No doubt a large portion of those have come from The Old Republic MMO, DICE's Battlefront games and Galaxy of Heroes as bookings tend to relate to recurrent spending.
Miele added that Respawn was working on a new entry in the Jedi franchise that is set to close the story.
Jedi Fallen Order started strong when it launched in November 2019, with EA publicly talking up the game's performance. The title had attracted over 20 million players by June 2021.
Jedi Survivor appears to have had a strong launch, though EA has released much less in the way of data when it comes to its performance only saying that the game had been played by "millions" of people.
It is likely safe to say that the sequel is on more or less level pegging with Fallen Order.
