Dungeons & Dragons is getting slightly more expensive. Inflation has been a throughline for the past year, and while prices for digital goods have remained largely flat, prices for paper, gas, and other shipping and manufacturing costs have only risen. So, Wizards of the Coast has announced it’ll be raising prices for physical books by $10 USD starting in August.
"Since the release of the 2014 D&D core rulebooks, we’ve kept book prices stable," wrote Wizards in yesterday’s update. "Unfortunately, with the cost of goods and shipping continually increasing, we’ve finally had to make the decision to increase the price of our new release print books."

Wizards stated that prices for printed copies of rule books will go up starting with the release of Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants. That expansion will star the wizard Bigby and the demigod Diancastra of Annam and will largely focus on giant-themed everything. Expect a new barbarian subclass, new giant-ish character options, two backgrounds for giant-based characters, and giant-themed feats. DMs will also get maps built for and by giants and new giant-sized monsters too. And of course, expect a lot of giant lore.
The good news is that the price increase will only affect physical books with digital prices currently remaining as they are. Digital and physical bundles, however, will also go up in price.
