Dragon's Dogma 2, the second entry in the series launching in a little over a month on PC and consoles, will release with an uncapped framerate.
Game director Hideaki Itsuno himself confirmed the news on X/Twitter, not adding much else on the matter. While it could only be the PC version that features uncapped framerate, there's the chance this will also be the case for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game, as he liked a reply asking about consoles.
Today's reveal from the Dragon's Dogma 2 is likely to address some rumors regarding the game's performance on consoles that have been circulating around in the past few weeks. While confirmation of display modes and target framerates have yet to come in, it is extremely unlikely the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S version will target 30 frames per second, as a recent analysis of the game's latest trailer captured on PS5 highlighted how the game may not run at solid 60 FPS all the time, but it definitely doesn't run at 30 FPS either.
Dragon's Dogma 2 will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on March 22nd worldwide.
