Dragon Ball Z fans are paying their respect to XenoVerse 2 for carrying the community for long enough to allow Sparking: Zero its reported five-year development cycle.
This week has been a huge one for Dragon Ball fans, as we finally got a good look at the next Budokai Tenkaichi game nearly a whole year after it was originally announced. Officially called Sparking: Zero (as the rumours suggested), the quick glimpse we got of it and all of the info that's been shared since the reveal seem to suggest that it's going to live up to all of the hype that fans have been building over the past decade.
Perhaps the most interesting bit of news to come out of Sparking: Zero's reveal is that it has reportedly had a five-year development cycle and has been being worked on since 2018. Although that's normal for most triple-A games nowadays, it's a long amount of time for a licensed anime game, which has raised expectations even higher than they were before. It's also caused the Dragon Ball community to share a whole lot of love for XenoVerse 2.
Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 was already a beloved game in the series, but after six years of content updates and DLC, it's fair to say that a lot of fans were getting a bit tired of it, especially in lieu of new games being made. With the reveal that Sparking: Zero has been in the works for so long, however, fans now think that XenoVerse 2 has been supported for as long as it has to allow the long-awaited fourth Budokai Tenkaichi some time to cook.
This revelation has caused a lot of fans to share their love and respect for XenoVerse 2 on social media, with several memes from fans showing XenoVerse 2 struggling with going for so long while Sparking: Zero was in development. One post from Twitter
