Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has been a long time coming, and we haven't even seen much of it yet. Trailers have mostly been limited to cinematics and story teases, and our best look at the game in action has come in the form of leaked gameplay footage. However, it's now being claimed that this could all change very soon.
Speaking on his podcast, journalist Jeff Grubb says that the last update he heard from the project is that it will launch in 2024. He adds that his sources were "pretty confident" about keeping to this release window and that this is what BioWare is aiming for internally.
BioWare has already confirmed the summer reveal for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, but this at least reassures us that we're still on track for a better look at the game in a few months. And if Grubb is right in saying that the team is aiming for a 2024 launch, then this summer showcase could give us an incredibly detailed look at the game, finally revealing our companions, player character, and a proper unveiling of the new gameplay mechanics.
A 2024 release date would align with previous leaks and rumours, including a developer's LinkedIn profile, which stated that Dreadwolf would launch this year. Before this, a financial report from EA also suggested it would be with us in 2024, so Dragon Age fans finally have a reason to get their hopes up after so many years of disappointment.
As for now, neither BioWare nor Grubb have commented on when exactly this summer reveal will take place. With E3 gone for good, it could go to any number of showcases, although Summer Games Fest in June 2024 is a good bet since Dreadwolf isn't going exclusive to any particular platform. Or, BioWare could host its own showcase just for Dreadwolf - it's safe to say there would be enough eager fans tuning in since we've spent the last few years mostly analysing concept art.
