Core Hound Potentially Tamed Pet in Phase 3 Datamining - Season of Discovery
Datamining for Phase 3 of Season of Discovery has unearthed the Infernal Lasso, allowing Hunters to lasso a Demon or Beast for 24 seconds, but also mentioning that Lassoed Core Hounds may be tamed. This is likely a followup of sorts to the ability to tame Wyverns that was added in Phase 1, but if it is linked to a rune in the same way remains to be seen.
If that is the case, expect a fairly length quest leading to this item and the ability to tame Core Hounds. This also raises the question of «Where would I tame a Core Hound?». Originally Core Hounds could only be found in Molten Core and Upper Blackrock Spire, but with Infernal Lasso requiring level 50, neither of those would be tameable.
Alongside this, the spell Lava Breath has been datamined. This has potential to be a unique ability for tamed Core Hounds, separating them from Wyverns which were effectively reskinned Wind Serpents.
