After releasing iOS 17.0.3 to the public, Apple has released the final release candidate build of its upcoming iOS 17.1, iPadOS 17.1, watchOS 10.1, macOS Sonoma 14.1, and tvOS 17.1 to developers. The latest build is potentially the final update before the company releases the official updates to the public. The latest updates will bring a plethora of new features to the table, which the company announced at its WWDC 2023 event.
If you are a registered developer, you can download and install the latest iOS 17.1 and iPadOS 17.1 release candidate updates on your iPhone or iPad through the Settings app. To download the update, head over to Settings > General > Software Updates > Beta Updates and follow the on-screen instructions. Make sure that your Apple ID is connected to your Developer account. If the account is not linked, you will not get the OTA update on your iPhone or iPad.
Alongside iOS 17.1, Apple has also released watchOS 10.1 release candidate build to developers for testing. The latest update can be downloaded through the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Head over to General > Software Updates > Beta Updates and install the latest build. Take note that your Apple Watch should have over 50 percent battery life and placed on a charger. Furthermore, it should be in the range of your iPhone to install the update.
Apple has also released the macOS Sonoma 14.1 release candidate alongside the iOS 17.1 update.
