Xbox has announced that Diablo 4 will be the first Activision Blizzard game to be added to Game Pass.
Microsoft completed its $69 billion acquisition of the Call of Duty and Diablo publisher in October 2023.
However, while it brought a dozen Bethesda titles to Game Pass just two days after acquiring it, Xbox boss Phil Spencer noted last year that players shouldn’t expect Activision Blizzard titles to be added right after its acquisition.
It has now been revealed that Diablo 4 will be coming to the service on March 28, some five months after the acquisition.
The announcement was made by Xbox president Sarah Bond during a podcast giving an update on the Xbox business.
“I’m excited to announce, with the coming together that we had with Activision Blizzard King, that Activision Blizzard games are coming to Game Pass starting with Diablo 4 on March 28, which I’m super, super excited to share today,” she said.
“And it’s all part of our commitment to make Xbox, the Xbox experience, and the games that we build as widely available as possible. So now the 34 million Game Pass members can all enjoy the fantastic experience of Diablo 4.”
Diablo 4 was released in June 2023, and reached 12 million players in its first two months.
The game was met with widespread critical acclaim, with Metacritic scores currently sitting on 91 for Xbox Series X/S, 87 for PS5 and 86 for PC.
