Much like Legion invasions in WoW, Helltides are temporary end-game zone events in Diablo 4. We look at how Helltides work and provide tips and tricks to efficiently farm Forgotten Souls, the most important crafting material used to reroll Sacred and Ancestral items! If a Helltide shows up within a certain zone, players have 60 minutes to collect Aberrant Cinders, a collectible, temporary currency that drops from killing Helltide monsters. With this currency, players are then able to open Tortured Gift chests that also spawn all over the Helltide zone. Here are all our findings, tips, and tricks regarding Helltides so far:
Helltide Tips and Tricks As already said, Helltides last for 60 minutes. We don't know the exact «respawn timers» of Helltides but so far they seem to rotate around Sanctuary on roughly a 1-hour cooldown. Tortured Gift Chests spawn all over Helltides and show up on your map. The only exceptions to that rule are Mystery Chests. Aberrant Cinders are used to unlock all Helltide chests. Normal chests cost either 75 (Armor and Rings), 125 (Amulets and One-Handed/Off-Hand Weapons), 150 (Two-Handed Weapons), or 175 (Mystery Chests).Mystery Chests are only visible on the World and Mini Map if you are close to them!
Don't die in a Helltide because you will lose half of your Aberrant Cinders if you do. Mystery Chests are the most reliant way to farm, the crafting material used to reroll Sacred and Ancestral Rare or Legendary items. These chests also have a higher drop Legendary item drop chance. s also drop from harvesting Screaming Hell Veins, a special kind of ore vein. Read more on wowhead.com
