The release of Destiny 2: Lightfall is just days away. It's scheduled for launch on Tuesday, February 28, and like previous expansions, Bungie will be prepping the game for an influx of new content, tweaks, and changes to the core experience. To prepare for all of it, Destiny 2 servers will go offline for a full day, during which time Lightfall preloading will become available. We now know more about how much storage space is required for Lightfall, too.
Destiny 2 will be brought offline for 24 hours starting at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET on February 27. You'll have until then to wrap up any lingering seasonal objectives as Season of the Seraph comes to an end, as once the downtime begins, you won't be able to play Destiny 2 until the servers are back online for Lightfall's release. Season of the Seraph (and all seasonal content from the last year) will be removed from the game at that point.
