One of the largest additions to Destiny 2 through The Witch Queen expansion is weapon crafting, and so farming Ascendant Alloy and other crafting materials will continue to be a new weekly grind for all players. While there are only a handful of weapons that players can craft in the game, both crafting and reshaping weapons cost a considerable amount of various materials. Reshaping is the process of crafting the same weapon differently as new perks are unlocked through increased weapon levels, and those new perks tend to cost more than the ones a weapon starts out with.
While there are nearly half a dozen new types of materials that players will need for the weapon crafting system in Destiny 2, Ascendant Alloys are the rarest materials of them all. Essentially, Ascendant Alloy is the weapon crafting equivalent of Ascendant Shards, and similarly, they're more easily obtained through endgame content introduced in The Witch Queen expansion. Likewise, Ascendant Alloys are primarily used to craft endgame weapons or endgame-level upgrades for such as Exotics and their catalysts. Additionally, like their Ascendant Shard counterparts, there are a few guaranteed methods that players can take advantage of to make sure they are slowly building their piles up weekly.

The two guaranteed methods of getting Ascendant Alloys in Destiny 2 are through Master Rahool and Banshee-44. Both of these long-time Destiny 2 vendors remain in the same locations, but they've had their wares updated in Season of the Risen.
