Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2, posts weekly updates commenting on how the game is doing as of late via its «This Week At Bungie» blog posts, with many of the game's future updates, rebalance passes, and sandbox changes getting discussed well in advance using this format. The latest TWAB has, to that end, brought up some major changes to the game's crafting system.
Namely, while Destiny 2's all-new weapon crafting system seems to have been accepted as a solid implementation by much of the game's community, it was also plainly obvious that Bungie would need to tune it further. Illogical resource caps, for one, have been widely regarded as unnecessary, and it would seem that Bungie is going to change things up rather significantly.
Bungie Acknowledges Feedback on Destiny 2's Exotic Glaives
While there are many ways to optimize Destiny 2's weapon crafting — introduced with the latest Witch Queen expansion pack — the fact that Bungie felt it necessary to include over half a dozen entirely new crafting resources to go along with the system has been an issue that gets repeatedly brought up by the community, according to the TWAB. With Hotfix 4.0.0.4 coming out next Tuesday, Bungie will increase all specific resource caps from 250 to 1000, and increase the Neutral Element cap from 8500 to 10000, allowing players to stockpile way more resources than they could before.
Further still, weapon crafting will be made even simpler and more streamlined with the release of the next Season in a couple of months, as Bungie will use this opportunity to remove Ruinous, Adroit, Mutable, Drowned, and Energetic elements from the game entirely. This should mean that players will simply need to unlock Destiny 2's Weapon Patterns and farm Neutral
