Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be released for PC on March 30, publisher 505 Games has announced.
The upgraded version of Kojima Productions’ PlayStation console exclusive will be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store for $39.99.
Like with the PS5 version of Director’s Cut, owners of the original Death Stranding on PC will be able to upgrade to the new version for $9.99 by purchasing through the in-game storefront.
The PC version of Death Stranding Director’s Cut will incorporate Intel’s new XeSS graphics technology for higher frame rates, plus ultrawide monitor support, and a new photo mode, 505 said on Thursday.
Director’s Cut debuted on PlayStation 5 in September 2021, boasting enhanced visuals, new missions and several additional features not available in the original PS4 version of Death Stranding.
These include new combat mechanics designed to make battling enemies more enjoyable, upgraded melee attacks, a new Maser gun and mounted machine guns.
New items include evolved stabilisers with thrusters which reduce the impact of landing when jumping from height, while the cargo catapult can launch cargo over long distances.
Boss battles can also be revisited and fought again repeatedly, with scores sharable in an online ranking system, and players can compete against each other on a new racing track.
Earlier this month director Hideo Kojima teased his 2022 plans, which he said include a “radical” new project and experimentation with video and radio.
