We already knew Death Stranding Director's Cut was heading to PC, but publisher 505 Games has now confirmed the release date and upgrade pricing.
Hideo Kojima's bizarre, but well-received stealth-action game is already available in two forms on the PS5, but Kojima Productions kept PC gamers waiting for the Director's Cut. Publisher 505 Games stated earlier this month that it was going to be released "later this year," but this week confirmed the release date is March 30. It will be available through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The other piece of information we were eager to find out was the pricing, and more specifically the cost of upgrading from the base game. You'll be happy to hear the upgrade costs $10, which is how much it cost on PS5.
If you are purchasing the game for the first time, then expect to pay $39.99 for the Director's Cut version. However, right now you can pay a lot less than that due to the Lunar sales events being held by both Steam and Epic. The base Death Stranding game has been heavily discounted on both stores, meaning you'll only pay $17.99 (70% off) for it on Steam and $20.99 (65% off) on Epic. Then just add the $10 cost of the upgrade when it's available.
The Director's Cut content is certainly worth $10. As well as updated 4K graphics, there's adjustments to guides and hints, new weapons, new equipment, new facilities and missions, and support skeletons to enjoy. Add to that support for high frame rates, a photo mode, and ultrawide monitors.
