During Marvel Comics' 2017Darth Vader series, the Dark Lord of the Sith became his own version of Aquaman using the dark side of the Force. Taking place shortly after Revenge of the Sith, Darth Vader led an assault on the ocean world of Mon Cala as it had been resistant to the wishes of the newly formed Empire under Palpatine. While the dangers of the ocean initially overwhelmed the Sith lord, he eventually used the Force to bend the ocean itself to his will.
Featured in Darth Vader #15 from writer Charles Soule and artist Giuseppe Camuncoli, Vader and the majority of his forces were overwhelmed when the Mon Calamari's King Lee-Char unleashed massive sea creatures who drowned Mon Cala's cities on the surface, sweeping the Imperials into the sea. While Vader seemingly lost consciousness as he sank to the depths of the ocean world, he awoke at the beginning of the issue to the pounding pressures of the ocean, threatening to rupture his armor and life support systems.

Rather than letting himself be crushed to death, Vader comes to his senses and uses the Force to push the ocean itself away from him, resisting the intense pressure which no doubt requires an immense level of strength. Furthermore, when a giant squid-type monster wraps the Dark Lord in its tentacles intending to swallow him whole, Vader uses his power to dominate the creature to his will, forcing it to serve him and retrieve his lightsaber before carrying him to his surviving forces. As such, Darth Vader very much became a galactic version of DC Comics' Aquaman, albeit a much darker one seeing as how he killed the squid monster after it had served his purposes.
