Star Wars Reveals the Empire's Sickening Answer to the Holdo Maneuver
The Empire has always represented everything that is corrupt and evil in the Star Wars universe, and that sentiment has recently been proven even more true as the Empire has its own twisted take on Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s Holdo Maneuver.
The Holdo Maneuver is the name given to the selfless act of sacrifice by Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. In the film, Holdo and her crew are faced with the incoming threat of the First Order's Supremacy ship. The First Order mean to wipe out the Resistance’s fleet with their unbelievably powerful ship, and it's only Holdo's incredibly brave maneuver that stops them. While in a far inferior craft to the Supremacy, Holdo throws her ship into lightspeed and aims it directly at the Supremacy, obliterating the enemy and herself with a move that saves the remaining Resistance.

In Star Wars #23 by Charles Soule and Ramon Rosanas, Imperial Commander Zahra and her Star Destroyer stand alone against the entire fleet of the Rebel Alliance. Rather than retreating, Zahra decides to try and outmaneuver the Rebels by using a method similar to that of Admiral Holdo but with a dark twist. This space battle was happening above a planet where the Rebels had a base of operations, so Zahra flies her ship down toward the planet to make it seem as though she is going to ignore the fleet and instead wipe out the Rebel base. When her ship is pursued, Zahra fires her Ion Cannons at the incoming ships, rendering them useless as they are caught in the planet’s gravity.
