A Cyberpunk 2077 lighting mod called E3VR was recently updated to a new version that essentially restores the lighting system used in the game's pre-release versions.
The E3VR mod, which can be downloaded from Nexus Mods, combines the lighting systems from the E3 2018 and 2019 showings and the 2020 trailer using the in-game files so as to make the tweaks work in the final game lighting system and not lose the current graphical fidelity. The results are incredible and give the game a very different feel, as highlighted in the comparison video put together by Krush SG.
While modders continue to improve the game, developer CD Projekt Red hasn't left Cyberpunk 2077 behind, having released just last week a new update that introduces new gameplay features, such as a fully-functional metro system complete with new stations and path tracing and ray tracing improvements. With the 2.1 update, NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction can also be used outside of Overdrive Mode, improving the quality of regular ray tracing noticeably.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now out on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One worldwide. The Phantom Liberty expansion is now available on PC and current generation consoles only. More on the excellent expansion starring Idris Elba as Solomon Reed can be found in Alessio's review.
