Warriors and Demon Hunters are receiving some new cosmetic options in Dragonflight Patch 10.1. Glyph of the Heaved Armament and Glyph of the Chosen Glaive will change the look of Heroic Throw and Throw Glaive, allowing them to use the appearance of their main hand weapon! Heroic Throw was unexpectedly changed during Legion development to use a stylized Decapitator axe.
Although Throw Glaive has always used a generic appearance, Heroic Throw actually did use the appearance of the player's main hand weapon when the ability was first added in Wrath of the Lich King. Sometime during the Legion expansion pre-patch, this was unexpectedly changed to instead use a glowing red version of The Decapitator, which shared the same tooltip icon and the ability itself was likely inspired by.
The original version of Heroic Throw added in Wrath of the Lich King actually did use the equipped weapon. While there's a certain fantasy to throwing your actual equipped weapon, it also makes sense that the Warrior would throw a different weapon so as to not deprive themselves of their primary weapon, but with abilities like Ravager also using the appearance of the player's main hand weapon, there isn't a whole lot of consistency.
