Conscript is a retro-inspired survival horror that takes place in a truly terrifying setting, World War One's infamous Battle of Verdun. You play as a French soldier searching for his missing brother, employing a variety of WW1-era armaments to clear trenches overflowing with the restless dead.
Developed by Catchweight Studio and published by Team 17, Conscript offers the sort of PS1 pixel aesthetic that has been making a comeback recently, perhaps best exemplified by Signalis. Genre staples such as item management, environmental puzzles, and intertwining areas, as well as various difficulty settings, multiple endings, unlockable costumes and bonus weapons, are all on offer. Its a setting ripe for exploration, and Catchweight is aiming for a release on PS5 and PS4 sometime later this year.
