Lightyear is finally here, allowing Pixar fans everywhere to learn what made Buzz Andy's favorite film character. An in-universe addition to 1995's Toy Story, Lightyear reveals the long-awaited origin story the character that inspired the infamous Buzz Lightyear toy. The fun animated adventure takes on a component that Pixar movies don't often get into, which is sci-fi and space exploration.
Chris Evans takes over for Tim Allen as the voice of Buzz, and he is joined by an all-star cast. Lightyear incorporates voice performances from Keke Palmer, Peter Sohn, Taika Waititi, Dale Soules, James Brolin, Uzo Aduba, and many more. Together, the cast tell the story of one space explorer's unfailing heroism in the face of insurmountable odds.

Screen Rant spoke to Evans about his first reactions to Toy Story, the hardest he's ever cried in a Pixar movie, and how it felt to bring the beat down to two different Brolins.
Screen Rant: We thought you were outta the superhero game. Right back in.
Chris Evans: [Laughs] Every time you think you're out, they pull you back in.
How does it feel to be back?
Chris Evans: Good. Good. I mean, with Pixar, I would've done anything.
I thought I had a great story going, cuz I was like, «I bet Chris Evans named Sox, because he's a big Red Sox fan.»
Chris Evans: Right? No, I had no say over that. And I was hoping that they made the Sox cat look like Dodger because of my dog. But no, this was all just some lucky kismet outcome.
Do you remember your first time seeing Toy Story and what you felt?
Chris Evans: I don't know if I remember my first time seeing it. I remember loving it deeply. I remember the fact that I was a big, big animation fan
