Indie outfit Visai Games has announced that it has delayed the launch of its charming-looking cooking title Venba from spring 2023 to summer 2023 — In happier news, the studio also revealed PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One ports that will launch alongside the previously announced PC and Nintendo Switch editions.
Set against the backdrop of the 1980s, Venba will tell the tale of an Indian mother and her family, who have recently emigrated to Canada. A top-tier culinary master, Venba’s faithful cookbook — containing generations of family recipes, is damaged in transit, and it is up to the player to guide Venba’s hand as she attempts to replicate each and every recipe from the tome, while perhaps discovering a few new dishes while en route.
But Venba will be more than a simple cooking game, as a strong, familial narrative will unfold within the family, with the player becoming involved in branching conversations between Venba, her husband, and their young son. Visai Games will blend interesting and compelling puzzle work with lovingly stylish visuals and heartfelt family interaction to create a narrative title that will warm your heart as well as your stomach. I’m looking forward to checking this out when it makes its eventual debut.
Venba launches this summer on PS5, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
