Carol Danvers first became a superhero under the moniker Ms. Marvel (after already being a supporting character in the original Captain Marvel's book). After losing her powers to Rogue, she became Binary (who is now her own entity in the Marvel Universe) and Warbird before becoming Ms. Marvel a second time. In 2012 she finally claimed the Captain Marvel name and has kept the designation for over a decade. Carol has easily become the best-known Captain Marvel, even inspiring the likes of Kamala Khan to take the Ms. Marvel moniker for herself.

Going by the name «Aknie», this cosplayer's latest creation turns Carol Danvers into a 19th century woman about town in a Victorian-style dress from the eponymous era. Every aspect of Danvers' modern-day suit has been implemented here with a retro twist: Carol's sash, the vertical yellow «V» below her neck, and the blue-red-yellow color scheme, common among paragon heroes like Superman and Captain Marvel.
