Captain America vs Sentry Turned His Shield into a Brutal Weapon
The Sentry once turned Captain America's shield into a deadly weapon, as the hero killed the Avenger in a fight by slicing his head off in one of the most brutal deaths in Marvel Comics. In What If...? #200, Marvel reveals what would happen if Sentry's incredible powers were fully unleashed during the Siege event. It turns out he'd become the ultimate Avenger's weapon, killing the entire superteam, including Captain America, in an incredibly dark manner.
Sentry is considered the strongest character in the Marvel Universe, but he's never become Earth's Mightiest Hero due to his unstable powers. After taking an experimental super-soldier-serum, Bob Reynolds gained the powers of one million exploding suns, essentially making him Marvel's answer to Superman. However, Sentry was also given the powers of the Void, a dark entity that could take over the hero to destroy the universe with its incalculable power. While the Void has been stopped each time it's been unleashed, a What If...? comic showed what would happen if it consumed and caused mass death on Earth, with the issue featuring Sentry losing control and fighting and killing Captain America with his own shield.

In What If...? #200 by Marc Guggenheim, Dave Wilkins, Lucio Parrillo, and Dave Lanphear from Marvel Comic, Sentry took on the Avengers in a story imagining what would happen if he had rested before Norman Osborn's Siege on Asgard.
