Capcom Confirms More Ace Attorney Games Are Coming
thegamer.comCapcom has confirmed that, despite not getting a brand-new game since 2017, the Ace Attorney series is not finished and will have more games in the future.
Although Ace Attorney fans have been kept happy with recent re-releases and HD collections that compile some of the series' best releases (with one for the Apollo Justice trilogy even coming in a few days), it's been a long while since we've had a brand-new entry. The last release was 2017's The Great Ace Attorney 2, and since then, we've only seen remasters.
This might seem like cause for concern for Ace Attorney fans, Capcom has some good news for anyone waiting to see more of Phoenix Wright and Apollo Justice. As reported by 4gamer and shared by Nintendo Everything, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy's producer, Kenichi Hashimoto, was recently interviewed about the remastered trilogy and how it was put together.
Towards the end of the interview, Hashimoto is asked about the future of the series and whether we'll see more Ace Attorney games in the future. As translated by Nintendo Everything, Hashimoto replied by saying that, although there's nothing to talk about right now, the team has gained a lot of knowledge about the RE Engine, and that he can confirm that the series "will not be stopping".
“At this time there is nothing to talk about, but we have gained a lot of knowledge about the RE Engine. I can say that the Ace Attorney series will not be stopping, so in that sense I think you can look forward to what is coming.”
Hashimoto's response doesn't outright confirm that a new Ace Attorney game is in development right now, but it does suggest that Capcom has plans for the series moving forward, which might even involve using the RE Engine. We have no idea what the future of the series looks like right now and whether the next game will focus on Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice, or Ryunosuke Naruhodo, but at least we know we can expect more from Ace Attorney.
