Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has had a rough start to life where reception from critics and the audience is concerned, but with its sales, the shooter has got off to a predictably solid start. As per data revealed by the Gfk (via GamesIndustry), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has topped the latest weekly UK retail charts. Though its physical launch sales are 25% lower than those of last year’s Modern Warfare 2, it’s possible that its digital sales make up for that shortfall.
Meanwhile, Football Manager 2024 is another new release debuting in the top 10, coming in at No. 5, while last week’s newcomer, RoboCop: Rogue City has dropped down from fourth place to thirteenth. EA Sports FC 24 is still in second place, exactly where it was last week, though Super Mario Bros. Wonder has dropped down to No. 3, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to No. 4.
The rest of the top 5 is occupied with a number of titles that have become familiar fixtures in these charts in recent weeks, with Nintendo Switch Sports taking sixth place, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe coming in at No. 7, Hogwarts Legacy slotting in at No. 8, and Minecraft (for the Switch) and Assassin’s Creed Mirage rounding out the top 10.
