Dark and Darker Mobile is in development from Krafton’s Bluehole Studio, as announced at G-Star.
Dark and Darker on PC has beenin Early Access since August, and developer Ironmace calls the game “an unforgiving hardcore fantasy FPS dungeon PvPvE adventure”. From eight different classes, play with friends and use your ability and powers to uncover treasures, defeating monsters, and also competing against other treasure hunters to claim the goods before they do.
Krafton and Bluehole are set to bring the experience to mobile together, touring the blend of dungeon crawlers, battle royale, and RPGs. The team plans to overhaul and optimize the experience for mobile users. No targeted release window just yet, but this launch at G-Star 2023 is the first time they've revealed the mobile version and licensing deal with Ironmace.
In a press release, Rafael Lim, Krafton’s senior head of publishing business, says “We believe that Dark and Darker Mobile will resonate with mobile players by capturing the spirit of the PC version with engaging survival mechanics, immersive exploration, and intense extraction gameplay. Our goal is to surpass fan expectations with a truly unique mobile gaming experience”.
Today, the Ironmace team announced that the PC version would get its second Early Access patch and be wiped on November 22nd. The road to Early Access was a bit of a bumpy one, with the game having been delisted from Steam after a lawsuit from Nexon accusing Ironmace of copyright infringement over assets. That lawsuit was eventually dismissed in late August, but the Ironmace team had pushed forward to release its Early Access build independently by then.
