Endnight Games have announced that Sons of the Forest, the sequel to 2014’s much beloved survival horror game, The Forest, will officially launch on February 22, 2024.
Originally released into early access in February 2023, Sons of the Forest drops players into an open world teeming with cannibals. The 1.0 version of the game will improve on its current early access iteration with a number of quality-of-life improvements and other changes primarily based on player feedback.
<p dir=«ltr» lang=«en» xml:lang=«en»>Hey Everyone, Sons Of The Forest v1.0 will release Feb 22, 2024 with Shawn Ashmore voicing Timmy as we expand his role in the game and story. We thank everyone who has joined us in Early Access and are super excited for what we have in store for v1.0 and beyond.Actor Shawn Ashmore, most well known for playing Bobby Drake / Iceman in the Fox series of X-Men films, voices Timmy LeBlanc, the son of Eric LeBlanc from The Forest. Timmy will be an important character in the game’s narrative and Sons of the Forest looks to continue to develop his storyline. Ashmore is no stranger to video game voice acting, having lended his voice to titles such as Alan Wake 2, The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan, and Quantum Break.
Sons of the Forest’s open world is four times larger than the one found in The Forest and Endnight Games paid a ton of attention to the finer details when developing the game’s world. Players will need to fight, craft, and build to survive the game’s many horrors, but there’s no need to face one’s fears alone. Sons of the Forest features full co-operative play for up to eight players.
Sons of the Forest is currently available in Steam Early Access for $29.99.
