Universal Pictures releases the trailer for Billy Eichner's Bros, a historic romantic comedy featuring an entirely LGBTQ+ principal cast. News of the historic rom-com first surfaced in 2019 when it was announced that Eichner would write and star in Bros, directed and co-written by Nick Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Neighbors), and produced by Judd Apatow, known for Trainwreck, Bridesmaids, and countless other rom-coms. Production of Bros commenced in June 2021 in the Northeastern United States and is now scheduled for a theatrical release later this year.
Actor and comedian Billy Eichner leads the cast of Bros as the first openly gay man to write and star in a major studio film. The movie's supporting cast is made up entirely of LGBTQ+ actors, including the Hallmark Channel regular Luke Macfarlane, Community star Jim Rash, Saturday Night Live's Bowen Yang, Scandal's Guillermo Díaz, TS Madison, Miss Lawrence, Symone, and Guy Branum. Though virtually nothing was known about the plot, the first look at Bros is now revealing more details about the unprecedented project.

Universal Pictures released the trailer for the historic LGBTQ+ rom-com Bros. Other than revealing some ancillary plot details, the trailer hints at the film's meta-quality, as Eichner's lead character, Bobby Leiber, is tasked by Hollywood producers with writing a rom-com about a gay couple that will appeal to straight men as well, namedropping Ice Cube and Jason Momoa in the process. Meanwhile, Bobby reluctantly falls for a man played by Macfarlane. Watch the Bros trailer below but be warned, it is NSFW:
