Kelly Clarkson, who has served as a judge on The Voice, has announced the release of her new six-song Kellyoke EP. The EP will feature cover songs that she performed on The Kelly Clarkson Show, including Billie Eilish's «Happier Than Ever.» Kelly first skyrocketed to fame in 2002 as the winner of American Idol season 1, and has since become one of the most popular and successful recording artists of the 21st century.
Kelly is a three-time Grammy Award winning artist who has hosted her own talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, since 2019. She has won three Daytime Emmy Awards for her work on the show. Kelly begins every one of her shows by singing a fan-requested song, either one of her own or a cover, with her band Y'all providing the music. This segment, which is called Kellyoke, is a real treat for her fans as they listen to her put her magic touch on songs from various genres and time periods. Jason Halbert, who has been Kelly's musical director for 18 years and who also serves as the musical director for The Kelly Clarkson Show, once told Billboard that Kellyoke grew out of Kelly's tradition of taking a fan cover request every night when she was on tour.

Kelly has now announced that she will release the six-song Kellyoke EP on June 9 via Atlantic Records. According to Billboard, in a press statement, Kelly said, «Music is in the DNA of everything I do, so when The Kelly Clarkson Show started we knew it was the perfect way to kick off every episode.» With so many songs from which to choose, Kelly admitted that she found it difficult to pick only six, explaining,«Over 500 songs later, and we’re still not running out of amazing artists to pay tribute
